The spammers have found another way into the official SL forums - via PM - and Lexie has admitted that LL can't do anything about it. How long before they turn PMs off again - which will suit the moderators as they will have almost no work to do, apart from deleting posts and threads at their personal whim, of course, regardless of Community Guidelines.
PS I wonder how they are doing on monitoring the under-18 Teens being PMd by older SLers?
PPS Is it me, or are the forums dying quicker than everyone expected? Yesterday there were only about half a dozen posts in the previously busy "Lifestyles" subforum, three in "Make Friends" and none at all in the "Feedback" node with the constantly changing title, if you don't include the Moderators moving threads around in an unavailing attempt to make it look as if they are being useful. You can't blame the tumbleweed syndrome entirely on Mandy and the Mods' public hysterionic over-reaction to Scylla and me - can you?

ReplyDeleteYes.
And do.
Oh dear! I am not sure if I can cope with the infamy of having brought yet another forum to its knees. Can I?
ReplyDeletePS "Infamy! Infamy! They've all got it in for me!"
It's getting better...I have not been in the SL forum since 17 april (my last post there) and today I got a message from Moderation Linden (or whatsitcalled) :
ReplyDelete"Congratulations, Caitlin Tobias!
As the result of your contributions to the community, you have earned a new rank. Your new rank is Member"
I guess I got ranked for staying away, it must make them happy!
Now that the Lifestlyes & Relationships forum has not seen a new post in more than a day, the forum part of the Lithium boards is officially dead. What's left is a support and advertising network, which is probably exactly what Linden Lab wanted.
ReplyDeleteI shall keep popping in to remind them of their embarrassment when they allow me - and perhaps when they don't as well.
ReplyDeleteI shall be interested to see the transcript of this weeks CTUG meeting, if, as seems likely, I can't get there myself.
