Agreed. It might be nice to have that feeling of protection, but it does not mean equality.

I've been seriously giggling since reading this. The blogorums are much more entertaining this way — read the funny bits, the good lines, and move along. I haven't a clue who this clueless person is who can't read good and yet it really doesn't matter, does it? These types of posters are all of a piece and this is what your post highlights.
Your blog and Lee's serve the same purpose; you just don't do yours in a wall of text. I like the wall of text, too, in that it gives the whole meal while you serve up the bon mots as a :::cough::: delicate morsel. Different servings for different moods.
Why didn't the writer of the post you quoted just say, "I'm stupid, humorless, and illiterate but if you point that out you'll get spanked by over-zealous moderation that is also stupid, humorless, and illiterate?" Oh, right, they do not have the ability to write that. NM.
I'm sure that poster is a fan of every kid in a competition getting a 1st Prize just for showing up; thus ensuring the kids who truly excel never realize they do or they give up trying and at the same time giving the slow kids a sense of entitlement they do not deserve! Yay! It leads to fucked up adults rather evenly!
